On Wednesday 25th of April, 2018, the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC), the enterprise unit of the Pan-Atlantic University launched the new SME Toolkit website (http://smetoolkit.ng) as part of its integrated approach to entrepreneurial development in Nigeria. The development of the new SME Toolkit was due to the sunset of the old SME Toolkit Nigeria site which was developed in 2003 by International Finance Corporation but managed fully by EDC.

The theme of the Launch was Technology, Growth & Markets the Director of EDC, Engr. Peter Bamkole gave the keynote speech

At the launch, promoters of five technology driven businesses in diverse sectors gave TEDx talk on how they have leveraged on technology for business growth and market expansion. The representatives were Muyiwa Faulkner, Senior Executive at Flutterwave, Onyeka Akumah, co-founder at Farmcrowdy, Olatomi Kolawole, lead strategist EzraPearl Online, Ukinebo Dare, SSA to the Edo State Governor: Skill Development and Job creation, and Oluyomi Ojo, Co-founder of Printivo. This was followed by a panel session moderated by Tomi Kolawole. The session ended with Q& A from the audience.

After the panel session, Bolaji Olawoye, the SME Toolkit infrastructure expert, navigated through the platform to show the SME Toolkit user experience. He also gave an overview of the level of participation at the SME Toolkit bootcamp

In attendance were the directors & heads of units from telecommunication firms, BOI, commercial banks, and other financial Institution, IT industry experts, representatives from Lagos State Employment Trust Funds and their Business Development Service Providers. Others include SME Toolkit trainers, content providers, participants of the SME Toolkit challenge and other distinguished stakeholders in the SME space.
